WEBSITE — 2003
Project Overview
When I was only six months out of school, I was lucky enough to work as a designer on the Aiwaworld website with W+K Tokyo. The Aiwa brand was being repositioned to be a simple stylish youth-orient collection of audio-video products. And Aiwaworld was to be the central hub for innovative creative experiences. The primary theme of the site was the idea of new surprising experiences as the result of “hybrid music”. The site included a set of characters called Aiwamals, each of which represented a genre of music. Visitors were encouraged to create their own Hybrid Aiwamals and therefore their own unique genres of music, and then share them with others in the community. The Aiwa TV portion of the site showcased original content from creatives like Tokyoplastic and Mumbleboy.
My Responsibilities
I worked on storyboarding out how the Aiwamal Creator would function, as well as designing characters and storyboards for the Webmercials and Teasers that would appear on the site.
